"I didn't feel to bad, but training did not go well in the past week. Yesterday though I felt the right sensations return to my legs. Honestly, I went all the way. I had to dig in deep to come back on Jonathan in the final straight line. but he really finished very strong. Kevin confessed having had a lot of fun at the last race of his season. "Obviously, with a splendid crowd supporting us, on home soil, it couldn't be better. Brilliant really. It is also the track we enjoy the most, which clearly result in strong performances". "I really struggled throughout the entire race, it was tough," Kevin's brother Jonathan said.
"Sure I was motivated and we knew the audience would support us, but the big unknown were my legs,' he smiled. "I had an issue when I wanted to accelerate at the start of the curb, I sort of missed out on my line. Still, going below 45 seconds and reeling in a win on home soil is just fantastic. I'm very happy with this performance." Now the two brothers will take time off and head for Island for a week of team building with the 4x400 meter team. Jonathan aims to achieve 44.50 next year, "the year of the London Olympics, preferably even faster."
