15.09.2011 - Borlée brothers from track to catwalk

On Wednesday the Borlée brothers excelled off the track too. At the gala dinner of the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme they strolled up and down the catwalk, together with other athletes such as Elodie Ouedraogo.



In the days before the Memorial an annual gala dinner is held in the Colonial Palace in Tervuren. This time the event also included a mini version fashion show. Among the people whom organiser Wilfried Meert managed to reel in were Jonathan and Kevin Borlée. more

15.09.2011 - Bolt wants to shine on Memorial

Without a doubt the main star at the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme on Friday is Usain Bolt. The Jamaican sprint sensation aims to run a world year best at the 100m in the King Baudouin stadium.



In fact, the 100 metres was added to the program at the specific request of Bolt. So far the fastest time of the year is still by his fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell (9.78). It was a tired but cheery Bolt who addressed the press on Wednesday in the athletes' hotel in Brussels. more

Today Oscar Pistorius, the blade runner, came to talk to the press and is looking forward to his first race in Belgium. After his good competition at the World Championships in South Korea he still feels good.

Especially running against the Borlée brothers in their homeland gives him great motivation to run a fast race on Friday.
